The AU Advocacy and External Engagement Graduate Intern will undertake administrative tasks, research, planning, note-taking, and policy analysis, supporting the objectives outlined in the MoU between World Vision and the African Union (AU), and aligned with the AU Liaison Office Partnership Strategy.
Position: Advocacy & External Engagement Intern Required Education, Training, License, Registration, And Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, communication, public policy, management or law
- Training certificate on advocacy, child rights and policy influence, an added advantage
- Graduated within the last 2 year
Preferred Knowledge And Qualifications
- Capabilities – achieving, thinking, self-managing, relational, networking and collaboration and humanitarian diplomacy.
Required Professional Experience
- 1 to 2 years of experience in advocacy, external engagement, campaigns or policy analysis work in developing countries is an added advantage.
- Knowledge on Child Rights including the African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child or the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
- Experience planning and organizing workshops or forums for participants in multiple countries.
- Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills, particularly in a cross-cultural environment
- Planning and organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple activities Research experience especially in policy and advocacy
- Understanding of humanitarian and fragile contexts
- Good understanding of the AU will be an added value.
Major Responsibilities: Major ResponsibilitiesMonitor and Report on various AU engagements and events that relate the work of the AULO.

Language:
- Excellent written and communications skills in English.
- Any AU official language will be an added advantage
