Description

-Responsible for writing captions for shows and movies as well as documents and scripts.
- We are searching for a highly skilled individual who are detail-oriented, fast typist and master at delivering accurate, error-free work under tight deadlines.
- Your role will involve crafting captivating translations from Amharic to English and vice versa to ensure our content resonates with our diverse audience.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Write and edit captions for D!NK TV shows and films.
- Transcribe dialogue accurately and efficiently, maintaining proper spelling and grammar.
- Review caption lines to revise, condense, or remove for clarity and timing.
- Translate dialogue between Amharic and English, ensuring accuracy and natural tone.
- Synchronize captions precisely with spoken dialogue using captioning tools.
- Adapt captions through localization, ensuring cultural relevance, tone, and context for the target audience.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Translation, Linguistics, Languages, Journalism, Communication, Literature, or a related field.
Professional certification in translation is an advantage.
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in translation, media, communications, publishing, or a related field.
- Experience translating media, marketing, digital, or audiovisual content is preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Amharic.
- Strong proofreading and editing abilities.
Knowledge of media, communication, and content production processes.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and translation-related tools.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
