The bank was established with a paid-up capital of 27.6 million birr and an authorized capital of 150 million birr, contributed by 717 shareholders.
The Bank began its operations on 28 October 1999 with a workforce of 27 employees. It entered the banking sector as the sixth private bank to receive a license in the nation.
