PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The General Manager provides visionary leadership, crisis management, and strategic execution to guide Yehara Textile Manufacturing from its current operational challenges toward long-term profitability and market competitiveness. Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with holding-level operations, legal, and financial units, the General Manager holds full executive accountability for restructuring, cost rationalization, liquidity restoration, supply chain integrity, workforce realignment, and commercial revitalization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement strict liquidity controls and cost-containment measures across all units.
- Secure critical raw-material supply lines and restore loom & processing efficiency.
- Immediately diagnose operational bottlenecks, plant inefficiencies, and cash-flow leakages
- Formulate and execute a Corporate Turnaround Strategy approved by the CEO.
- Re-engineer manufacturing workflows and reduce machine downtime.
- Identify and capture high-margin domestic and export markets.
- Revamp pricing strategies and strengthen customer relationships.
- Monitor financial performance, variance analysis, and cash-flow forecasting.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and reinforce internal financial controls.
- Lead and mentor the executive team and workforce.
- Foster a strong safety culture and resolve labor grievances.
- Align employee incentives with productivity and turnaround goals.
- Oversee quality control systems and product standards.
- Develop and implement production planning and capacity utilization strategies.
- Negotiate and manage key supplier and buyer contracts.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Executive MBA, Operations Management, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive executive management experience, with a proven track record of successfully leading corporate turnarounds, operational restructuring, or crisis management in large-scale industrial manufacturing or textile enterprises.
- Strong technical knowledge of textile and fabric production processes, wet processing, supply-chain logistics, and international textile export compliance.
- Demonstrated expertise in corporate finance, P&L management, cash-flow modeling, cost rationalization, debt restructuring, and operational auditing.
- Fluency in both Amharic and English (written and spoken) is mandatory.
Skills
- Ability to diagnose complex operational failures and rapidly deploy corrective stabilization frameworks.
- Mastery of manufacturing efficiency, preventive maintenance, and procurement governance.
- Skill in aligning a large workforce and managing stakeholder relations under high-pressure turnaround conditions.
- Seamless collaboration with holding-company executives and chief management, ensuring full compliance with corporate directives.
