VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Position: Senior Project Manager – Building Projects
Duty Station: Oromia Region, Ethiopia, on site

KBEK Group invites qualified and highly experienced professionals to apply for the position of Senior Project Manager – Building Projects. The successful candidate will lead the planning, coordination, execution, and delivery of building construction projects, ensuring compliance with approved designs, contractual requirements, budgets, schedules, quality standards, and safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead and coordinate building construction projects from mobilization through completion and handover.
• Prepare and implement project work plans, construction schedules, resource plans, and progress targets.
• Supervise Project Engineers, Site Engineers, Foremen, subcontractors, and construction teams.
• Monitor project progress, productivity, costs, material usage, and resource utilization.
• Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and HSE requirements.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and relevant government offices.
• Identify project risks, delays, and technical challenges, and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare and submit regular progress reports, look-ahead plans, and project performance updates.
• Coordinate with head office on technical, contractual, commercial, and resource-related matters.
• Ensure timely completion, proper documentation, and successful project handover.

Qualifications and Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. A relevant postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience in building construction, including substantial experience managing building projects.
• Proven experience managing building projects, preferably including multi-storey buildings and projects with significant technical and coordination requirements.
• Fluency in Afaan Oromo is mandatory. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively with clients, local stakeholders, workers, and relevant authorities in Afaan Oromo.
• Strong leadership, planning, problem-solving, communication, and team-management skills.
• Good knowledge of construction methods, project scheduling, cost control, quality assurance, and occupational health and safety.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project planning/reporting tools; MS Project or equivalent is an advantage.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and deliver projects within agreed time, cost, and quality targets.
