We are looking for a resourceful, commercially minded researcher who can identify reliable suppliers, investigate market opportunities, and turn detailed research into practical business recommendations.

This role requires curiosity, persistence, and the ability to go beyond basic online searches. You should be comfortable investigating unfamiliar products, questioning information, contacting suppliers, and making clear comparisons supported by evidence.

Key responsibilities

Research international manufacturers and suppliers across different products and industries.
Verify supplier credibility, manufacturing capabilities, product quality, certifications, and export experience.
Contact suppliers to obtain quotations, technical specifications, samples, payment terms, and shipping details.
Compare offers based on specifications, price, minimum order quantities, lead times, and estimated landed costs.
Analyze the Ethiopian market, including demand, competitors, selling prices, distribution channels, and supply gaps.
Assess potential profitability and risks when introducing new products.
Prepare clear research reports and comparison spreadsheets, with sources, findings, and actionable recommendations.
Maintain an organized supplier database and follow up consistently.

What we’re looking for

Strong research, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
Excellent written and spoken English.
Confidence communicating with international suppliers.
Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills.
Ability to work independently, investigate inconsistencies, and follow a research task through to a useful conclusion.
Experience in sourcing, procurement, imports, market research, or business development is an advantage.
Familiarity with AI research tools is welcome, with the ability to independently verify findings.
