The Role
We are looking for a modern, trend-driven video editor who specializes in short-form content and knows what performs on TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts right now. You will lead short-form video editing at Axova, turning raw footage from our in-house studio into fast, engaging videos that grow our audience and drive merchant sign-ups. You will work directly with the founders, the Brand Content Lead and our production team.

About Axova
Axova is building the commerce operating system for Ethiopia. Storefronts, marketplace, point of sale, delivery and AI tools come together in one platform, so any merchant can sell online and run their business from one place. We are entering launch, and our content needs to stop the scroll.

Responsibilities
• Edit daily TikToks, Reels and Shorts with strong hooks, tight pacing and high retention
• Spot trends early and adapt formats, transitions, sounds and styles to Axova quickly
• Add dynamic captions and on-screen text in Amharic and English
• Handle music, sound effects and audio mixing for polished results
• Edit app demos, feature explainers and merchant stories
• Edit launch videos, ads and longer brand content when needed
• Track views, watch time and engagement, and use the data to improve each edit
• Work with the host, camera operator and motion designer from script to final cut

Requirements
• 4+ years of professional video editing, with a strong focus on short-form social content
• A showreel or portfolio of short-form videos that performed well
• Expert in Premiere Pro, After Effects and CapCut; DaVinci Resolve is a plus
• Deep understanding of current short-form trends, hooks and editing styles
• Strong in AI video and audio tools for editing, captions, effects and generation
• Excellent sense of pacing, rhythm, color grading and storytelling
• Delivers high volume under tight deadlines and stays consistent
• Motion graphics skills are a strong plus
• Clear communicator in Amharic and English
